Back on Schedule

October 21, 2009

I know we have had a few weeks where we have not met for a variety of reasons – NAMI Walk, St. George’s Soup Kitchen and then the Capital Campaign Kick-Off last Sunday…

We are back into our schedule starting THIS weekend! I am hoping we can all make it to the J2A and Rite-13 groups at 9 AM Sunday…you are all very important to the program! The program needs YOU to be successful as we work on growing our program…

*FYI – The RITE-13 GROUP is on the schedule for sponsoring the COFFEE HOUR. I will supply the drinks and cream for the coffee. We just need a few goodies for the kids and adults…

We are planning for a PARENT MEETING early November – date and time TBA.We have a whole bunch of things to pass on and discuss as a group.

Looking forward to seeing you all Sunday!!

Carol :-)

Description: The Success of the Diocesan Youth 30 Hour Famine last year prompted Youth leaders to suggest three joint activities this year. 2009-2010 Registration

August 5, 2009

The 2009-2010 Sunday School/Rite 13/J2A Registration form is now available on line.

For Junior High we run a Rite 13 program and High School we run a J2A program.

These programs are part of the nationally acclaimed Journey to Adulthood which engages youth with the skills and critical thinking involved in adulthood. This is a complete youth program of spiritual formation for 6th – 12th grades. It uses Bible study, prayer, rites of passage, outreach ministries and both serious and playful activities to underscore its core principles: Manhood and womanhood are free gifts from God and Adulthood must be earned.

These groups meet at 9AM Sunday mornings and run for about one hour.

We have posted some pictures of the Easter Dinner at St. Georges. Several of the J2A and Rite 13 kids participated. Enjoy the pictures.

Fr. Misgivings

Dave Kane as Fr. Misgivings

Dave Kane as Fr. Misgivings

A very special event will take place in the parish hall on Friday, November 21 at 7:30 PM.  To benefit the Journey to Adulthood teen program, we’ve invited Fr. Misgivings to address our community about what it means to be Catholic.  This one-man show, by Dave Kane, is very well known across the state, and we look forward to hosting it.  Tickets are just $15, and can be purchased through the office.  Come support the teens of the church and have a few laughs while you’re at it.
